Patient Information

ChoiceNet International (CNI) is a healthcare claims management company which provides access to medical providers in Mexico, for care and treatment when you need it. CNI will liaise with your healthcare provider to make arrangements for your medical treatment; this means you should not need to pay directly for healthcare in the majority of cases and invoices will be settled directly for your eligible costs. This service is available to expatriates living in Mexico as well as leisure and business travelers to Mexico.

SELECTING A PROVIDER

CNI Customer Service Specialists are available 24-hours a day, 7 days a week to assist you with any questions you may have regarding the choice of a provider.

We strongly suggest you call CNI Customer service to ensure doctor and/or hospital of choice is in the CNI Network, otherwise, you may have to pay and submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

MAKING AN APPOINTMENT

Once you have selected an appropriate medical provider, please contact a CNI customer service specialist to make an appointment on your behalf.   When the appointment is not arranged through CNI, contact us as soon as possible and provide the details of the consultation.  Your insurance company may have requirements that need to be met.  This call will give our customer service representatives the opportunity to verify your eligibility and coverage, verify if pre- authorization is required and expedite the process of obtaining such pre-authorization.

THE PROVIDER VISIT

Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. When visiting a doctor for the first time, you will be asked to complete a registration form with standard demographic information as well as details about your insurance, past or present medical conditions (including medications you may be taking), emergency contacts and a person financially responsible for payment.  In Mexico, any expenses incurred but not covered by your insurance company are ultimately your responsibility.

The Provider’s office will also ask you to sign a release of protected health information. This signed release will allow your physician to provide medical information to your insurance for pre-authorization and claim processing purposes.

In cases where the medical provider refuses to accept the insurance, you will have the option of paying for the visit and applying for reimbursement or scheduling a visit with another physician. Your customer service specialist will assist you with rescheduling.

If you cannot attend the appointment, please call our customer service specialist as soon as possible to cancel it.
